Design and manufacture at least 50 uniform yo-yo's. Must survive a drop test of 4 ft.

Made using 5 molds and 12 parts, our team of 5 students managed to design and manufacture the most complex yo-yo in the class (a testament to our ability to work as a team!)
Despite its asymmetrical and spiky design, it maintains a smooth, balanced performance, blending engineering precision with playful creativity. The result is a yo-yo that’s as striking visually as it is satisfying to use!
Inspired by the blue shell from Mario Kart because of the way it spins and zips through the air in game, we at first attempted to make our CAD as faithful to the in-game design as possible. We soon realized this design would not be possible with all of its undercuts, and pivoted to a more manufacturable design that still resembled the blue shell.
